The black sand, Tahitian Moon, really brings out the color of your fish. It has the added advantage of hiding algae. This is the sand that I recommend if you want a planted tank. Plant tanks require high light levels. High light levels cause algae to grow on the sand. Black will hide the algae. Crystal River is white, but it is a coarse sand.
